La nostra Ricerca e Sviluppo è inoltre dedicata all’integrazione degli ingredienti attivi in formulazioni studiate per essere supportate da studi scientifici specifici. Il nostro impegno nel controllo dell’intera filiera produttiva, dalla coltivazione alla produzione degli attivi, ci permette di garantire la massima sicurezza e qualità. I nostri ingredienti trovano applicazione negli integratori alimentari, nei prodotti cosmetici e veterinari e negli alimenti funzionali.

La qualità e la sicurezza dei nostri ingredienti attivi rappresentano la nostra priorità. L’attività di ricerca scientifica parte dalla selezione e dal miglioramento nutrizionale della varietà botanica identificata per la sua funzionalità. La nostra Ricerca è il fulcro delle attività di caratterizzazione degli ingredienti selezionati e della loro efficacia grazie alla messa a punto di rigorosi protocolli finalizzati alla sperimentazione pre-clinica e clinica. Grazie al network di partners nazionali ed internazionali, ed alla partecipazione ad HUB di Ricerca e Innovazione, manteniamo e implementiamo le nostre conoscenze scientifiche ponendo sempre il benessere del consumatore e le sue esigenze di salute al centro dei nostri progetti.
MAKE A BETTER USE OF WHAT IS NOT USED YET
Nel 2017, abbiamo intrapreso un percorso eco-sostenibile che prevede la valorizzazione di sottoprodotti dell’industria agroalimentare, comunemente non utilizzati, con l’obiettivo di ridurne l’impatto sull’ambiente ed i costi legati allo smaltimento. Lo sviluppo della varietà proprietaria di mais pigmentato MORADYN®, ricca in antocianine, ci ha permesso di utilizzare il frutto per realizzare un attivo, isolato mediante un metodo di estrazione a basso impatto ambientale, caratterizzato da un fitocomplesso esclusivo e funzionale alla normalizzazione del metabolismo degli zuccheri. Dal tutolo esausto è stato sviluppato un colorante naturale per uso alimentare e per la tintura di fibre di origine proteica (Progetto PASTEL/CARIPLO).
SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE IN SUPPORT OF THE TERRITORY
La nostra strategia di sviluppo degli ingredienti attivi mette al centro il tema della sostenibilità, con una particolare attenzione alle pratiche di coltivazione con l’obiettivo di diminuire l’utilizzo, ed il conseguente impatto sull’ambiente, di pesticidi e diserbanti.
Nel 2018, con la semina dei primi campi di Camelina Sativa (L.) Crantz, abbiamo avviato un percorso sperimentale con l’obiettivo di implementare nuove colture a sostegno del territorio attraverso la definizione di pratiche agronomiche che rispettino la pianta e le sue esigenze, rispettando e tutelando l’ambiente e la sua biodiversità. Il nostro sostegno verso l’agricoltura locale, anche grazie al progetto BRIEF finanziato da Regione Lombardia, ci vede impegnati nello sviluppo di ingredienti funzionali utilizzando la barbabietola con l’obiettivo di riconvertire la filiera bieticola-saccarifera in chiave agro-nutrizionale.

Betalyn® • Proprietary ingredient obtained from taproot portion of Beta Vulgaris. Thanks to its bioactive compounds, Betalyn® contributes to improve endothelial functions and body’s efficiency.
Panaxolyde® • Ginseng berries standardized dry extract recognized for its efficacy to improve memory enhancement and psychological and physic functions.
Profalmyn® • Camelina sativa dry extract rich in α-Linolenic acid (ALA), polyunsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E. Helps to maintain healthy blood cholesterol levels. Optimal omega-3s / omega-6s ratio (2: 1).

Thanks to the network of national and international partners, and to the participation in Research and Innovation HUBs, we maintain and implement our scientific knowledge by always placing the consumer’s wellbeing and health needs at the center of our projects.
MAKE A BETTER USE OF WHAT IS NOT USED YET
In 2017, we embarked on an eco-sustainable path that involves the enhancement of by-products of the agri-food industry, usually not used for nutritional purposes, with the aim of reducing their impact on the environment and the costs associated with waste management. The development of MORADYN®, an anthocyanins rich pigmented corn proprietary variety, has brought us use the fruit to extract an active ingredient, isolated using a low environmental impact extraction method. The ingredient has been characterized by an exclusive phytocomplex, functional to the blood-sugar normalization. A natural dye for food use and for dyeing natural protein fibers was developed from the exhausted cob (Project PASTEL / CARIPLO).
SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE IN SUPPORT OF THE TERRITORY
Our strategy focuses on the issue of sustainability with particular attention to cultivation practices with the aim of reducing the use, and the consequent impact on the environment, of pesticides and herbicides. In 2018, with the sowing of the first fields of Camelina sativa (L.) Crantz, we launched an experimental process aimed at implementing new crops to support the territory through the definition of agronomic practices in favor of the plant and its needs, respecting the environment and its biodiversity. Our support to local agriculture is moving forward thanks to the BRIEF project which target is the development of functional ingredients, with health benefits, using beetroots (Beta vulgaris). The project, funded by the Lombardy Region, is aimed to develop a future engagement to reconverting the sugar-beet supply chain in a new agri-food guise.
