International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary and Handbook

The XIth edition of the International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary and Handbook will be published soon, revised and updated, by the Cosmetics, Toiletries and Fragrances Association (CTFA).
The book is an essential instrument for every company taking care of formulations, labelling and selling cosmetic products.
The current edition (the Xth) contains more than 1400 new INCI names, included the Japanese translation of more than 2500 INCI names and 10000 new claims and technical names.
Altogether the work consists of 4 volumes which collect a total of 12000 INCI names and 55000 words between marks and technical names, beyond to:

• CAS, EINECS, formula, CIR, OTC, EU index and ingredients functions
• Chemistries classes
• Cosmetic functions
• Colouring index (USA - EU - JAPAN)
• Botanical index (Latin - English)
• Empiric formula

The CTFA 2004 Scientific/Regulatory Reference CD-ROM has been also published and updated, a directory of the appraisals of the Cosmetic Ingredients, executed from a panel experts of Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) and the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs: it contains the American legislation on cosmetics), both important for the managers of cosmetic companies.
The content of the CD-ROM is structured in such a way to allow to obtain an instantaneous answer for every word, phrase or combination of demanded words.
The four volumes are addressed to technicians and cosmetic scientists and formulators.
